Rivers State University (RSU), Nkpolu-Oroworukwu, Port Harcourt, is set to officially flag off its Students’ Drug Integrity Test initiative in collaboration with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).

The programme, which is being organised by the university’s Health Services Department and powered by the Anti-Drug Abuse Committee, will also feature the inauguration of Students’ Drug-Free Ambassadors as part of efforts to promote a drug-free campus environment.

According to details released by the university, the event is scheduled to hold on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at the university Amphitheater by 11:00 a.m.

The Vice-Chancellor of Rivers State University, Professor Isaac Zeb-Obipi, is expected to serve as Chief Host, while the NDLEA State Commander for Rivers and Bayelsa States, CN Bature Yakubu Dawa, will also be in attendance.

The initiative forms part of the university’s broader campaign against substance abuse and aims to encourage students to embrace healthy lifestyles while discouraging the use of illicit drugs and harmful substances on campus.

Organisers say the programme will create awareness about the dangers of drug abuse, strengthen preventive efforts within the university community, and empower student ambassadors to promote anti-drug advocacy among their peers.

The campaign carries the message: “Be Tested. Be Proud. Be Drug-Free.”

Students and members of the university community are expected to participate in the event as RSU continues efforts toward building a safer and healthier campus environment.
