The management of Rivers State University (RSU), Nkpolu-Oroworukwu, Port Harcourt, has directed all students and staff who applied for identity cards but are yet to collect them to proceed to the university’s Information Communication Technology (ICT) Centre for pickup.

The directive was contained in an internal memorandum issued by the Office of the Acting Registrar and dated April 7, 2026.

According to the memo, the University Management Committee, during its meeting held on April 1, 2026, was informed that a large number of staff and students had still not collected their identity cards despite completing the application process.

In response, the university management instructed all affected individuals to visit the ICT Centre to retrieve their cards as soon as possible.

The memorandum also reminded students and staff of the importance of wearing their identity tags while on campus. Management warned that failure to do so could lead to embarrassment or questioning from the university’s Enforcement Committee during routine checks.

The notice was signed by the Acting Registrar, Dr. Idanyingi I. Daminabo, who appealed for the cooperation of all members of the university community.

Students and staff are therefore advised to comply with the directive and ensure they carry their identification cards while within the university environment.
