The management of Rivers State University (RSU), Nkpolu-Oroworukwu, Port Harcourt, has announced the appointment of Dr. Idanyingi I. Daminabo as the new Acting Registrar of the institution.
The appointment was contained in a press release issued by the university and takes effect from December 15, 2025.
Before her appointment, Dr. Daminabo served as the Director, Establishment Division, and was the most senior Director in the Administrative Cadre of the university. She replaces Dr. I. B. S. Harry, who has completed her tenure as Registrar.
Dr. Daminabo is a seasoned administrator with decades of experience in university administration. She holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Sociology, a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Sociology, and a Doctorate Degree in Human Resource Management.
She joined the services of Rivers State University in 1994 as an Administrative Officer I, following a transfer of service from the former Rivers State Polytechnic, Bori, where she began her career in 1988 as an Administrative Officer II. Over the years, she rose through the ranks and was appointed Director in 2017.
In addition to her academic qualifications, Dr. Daminabo is a Fellow of the Institute of Corporate Administration, a Fellow of the Institute of Policy Management and Leadership Development (FIPLD), a Member of the Nigerian Institute of Management (MNIM), and a Member of the Association of Nigerian University Professional Administrators (ANUPA).
The university community has been encouraged to support the new Acting Registrar as she assumes her responsibilities.
