The President of the Student Union Government, Rivers State University has clarified that some of the recent fee blocks currently on the schools portal are as a result of technical glitches.
He did this is in response to a question by a student on social media which read “Dear SUG President, abeg what are we paying that text book access fee for?? Is this really education or extortion?” to which the SUG President via his Facebook account replied “It’s a glitch on the portal, it would be rectified. Be rest assured”
On Thursday 29th January, students began seeing additional fee blocks for payment on their student portals. One of the new payment blocks, Text Book Access Fee (Catalogue) was visible to most students while some students reported also seeing a Closed User Group Fee block
Students are therefore advised not to make payments on those fee blocks while the technical glitches are being resolved.
