Rivers State University (RSU), Nkpolu-Oroworukwu, Port Harcourt, has officially announced the commencement of its Christmas break for staff and students.
The announcement was contained in an internal memorandum issued by the Office of the Acting Registrar, dated December 17, 2025, and addressed to all principal officers, staff, and students of the university.

Essential Services to Remain Active
Despite the closure of offices, staff on essential duties will continue to work throughout the break. These include:

Health Services staff at the Emergency Unit
The university management noted that these measures are to ensure safety, basic utilities, and emergency healthcare services remain available on campus during the holiday period.
The memo was signed by the Acting Registrar, Dr. (Mrs.) Idanyingi I. Daminabo, on behalf of the university management.
The Vice-Chancellor also extended goodwill messages, wishing all staff and students a blissful Christmas celebration and a prosperous New Year.
Students are advised to make necessary travel and academic plans in line with the announced dates.
