The Director of Transportation and Equipment SUG;RSU – Hon. Irondi Iheoma Liberty in one of her first official duties since assuming office has launched an initiative to effectively reduce shuttle transportation costs for students on the Rivers State University main campus.
For quite some time, for a shuttle ride from the university main gate to the back gate, vice versa or within any two locations within campus costs a shuttle fair of a hundred and fifty naira only. However, due to the absence and scarcity of the 50 naira notes, most students have had to pay 200 naira without getting any balance of 50 naira.
Her intervention provides ₦50 denominated notes to drivers ensuring they have enough change for students. Students have been aslo encouraged to report issues of non compliance of shuttle drivers through the appropriate SUG complaint channels.
